Recently we celebrated the feast of the Epiphany. The Three Wise Men have made a long journey
led by the star. Have you ever noticed that it doesn't actually say how many magi there are? Since there are three gifts, it makes sense to portray three. The three gifts are very symbolic. Jesus is a king and that is why they brought him gold. Incense because he is God. Myrrh for His humanity. Jesus was born into humanity, as our king, the son of God our great high priest, fully human.
