Have you seen the beautiful, vaulted ceiling *above* the ugly drop ceiling at the Knights of Columbus Hall? Let me tell you about it.
The Hall was once a vibrant center of Catholic life in Denver. As membership and event hosting dropped, the knights ran out of money to maintain the beautiful hall. As a stop gap, they installed a cheap drop ceiling.
For some years, an effort was under way to restore the ceiling. All the money was raised. Then COVID happened and the city forcibly stopped operations at the hall. To keep the utilities paid, the entire fund was depleted.
Today, the few remaining Knights are starting to rebuild. It will be a long road, but we (YCP) are trying to help. The more parking space purchasing drink buying young professionals that we can bring into the building, the easier it will be for the Knights to preserve this treasure!
And the more vibrant the community will once again become.
