From Your State Deputy

Welcome Council #5447’s Dan Spenst to the State Council
In my article last month, I suggested that it’s time for Wyoming’s councils to take a fresh look at how they can more effectively serve the needs of their parishes and families. I mentioned that specific state officers have been preparing to help our councils through this process. Multiple offic-ers are involved because this project isn’t easy or straight-forward. This month I’d like to introduce you to one of these officers.
Because of its importance to this project, I’ve chosen to fill the office of Young Adult Out-reach Coordinator. I met Daniel Spenst at last year’s state convention, where he was an alternate delegate from Council #5447 in Lander. He introduces himself this way:
I joined Fr. Martin Kennedy Council #5447 in Lander in the spring of 2017. I was then finishing my senior year at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander.
Upon graduating, I began working for a local cow/calf operation in Lander where I still live and work. I married my wife, Alee, a class-mate, early that summer and we now have two beautiful little girls, Felicity, 3, and Lydia, almost 2, and a third expected this coming March.
I’ve been active in my council, which led to my being asked to help the State Officers as the Young Adult Outreach Coordinator. I’m very ex-cited to have been asked to help our councils as they seek to help the younger men and families in our parishes and support them in the struggles that face them in the current times. It’s a privilege to continue the vision of Blessed Michael McGivney to make a place for men of the Church to be built up and supported in their love and de-votion to Christ and their families.
Vivat Jesus!
The State Council welcomes Dan and Alee. When winter preparations on the ranch lighten up, we hope you’ll get a chance to meet and work with him.
Blessed Michael McGivney pray for us!
